Create Message Template

Learn how to create message template in your WhatsApp business account. This guide covers essential steps to ensure a smooth setup.


To create customized message templates for your WhatsApp Business account, follow these simple steps to ensure your messages effectively engage your audience.

  1. Open Message Templates Screen:
    To begin creating a message template, access the Message Templates screen by following these steps:
    • Click on the Icon Navigation Card featuring the verified icon on your dashboard.
    • Alternatively, navigate through the drawer menu by selecting WhatsApp Business Account and then Message Templates.
  2. Click on Add Button:
    Once you’re on the Message Templates screen, click on the Add button located at the bottom right corner.
  3. Choose Template Type:
    Select the type of message template you wish to create from the following options:
Simple
  1. Enter Template Name:

    In the Add Message Template screen:

    • Enter the name of your template, ensuring it is between 3-512 characters,
    • In lowercase,
    • Containing only underscores (_) as spaces.

    Once the name is entered, click the Next button below the name field.

  2. Choose Category:
    Select the appropriate category for your message template:

    • Marketing
    • Utility
      (Authentication is not supported yet.)

    After choosing the category, click Next.

  3. Choose Language:
    Select the language for your message template and then click Next.

  4. Configure Components:
    Customize the components for your simple message template. You can learn more about configuring components here.

  5. Save Template:
    Once you’ve configured your template, click the save icon located in the top left, just below the "Add Message Template" heading.

Carousel
  1. Choose Carousel Type:
    If you selected Carousel as the template type, choose one of the following:

    • Media
    • Product
  2. Enter Template Name:
    In the Add Message Template screen:

    • Enter the name of your template, ensuring it is between 3-512 characters,
    • In lowercase,
    • Containing only underscores (_) as spaces.

    Once the name is entered, click the Next button below the name field.

  3. Choose Category:
    Select the appropriate category for your message template:

    • Marketing
    • Utility

    After choosing the category, click Next.

  4. Choose Language:
    Select the language for your message template and then click Next.

  5. Configure Components:
    Customize the components for your carousel message template. You can learn more about configuring media card carousel components here and product card carousel components here.

  6. Save Template:
    Once you’ve configured your template, click the save icon located in the top left, just below the "Add Message Template" heading.

Limited-Time Offer
  1. Enter Template Name:
    In the Add Message Template screen:

    • Enter the name of your template, ensuring it is between 3-512 characters,
    • In lowercase,
    • Containing only underscores (_) as spaces.

    Once the name is entered, click the Next button below the name field.

  2. Choose Language:
    Select the language for your message template and then click Next.

  3. Configure Components:
    Customize the components for your limited-time offer message template. You can learn more about configuring components here.

  4. Save Template:
    Once you’ve configured your template, click the save icon located in the top left, just below the "Add Message Template" heading.

Catalog
  1. Enter Template Name:
    In the Add Message Template screen:

    • Enter the name of your template, ensuring it is between 3-512 characters,
    • In lowercase,
    • Containing only underscores (_) as spaces.

    Once the name is entered, click the Next button below the name field.

  2. Choose Language:
    Select the language for your message template and then click Next.

  3. Configure Components:
    Customize the components for your catalog message template. You can learn more about configuring components here.

  4. Save Template:
    Once you’ve configured your template, click the save icon located in the top left, just below the "Add Message Template" heading.

Single-Product
  1. Enter Template Name:
    In the Add Message Template screen:

    • Enter the name of your template, ensuring it is between 3-512 characters,
    • In lowercase,
    • Containing only underscores (_) as spaces.

    Once the name is entered, click the Next button below the name field.

  2. Choose Language:
    Select the language for your message template and then click Next.

  3. Configure Components:
    Customize the components for your single-product message template. You can learn more about configuring components here.

  4. Save Template:
    Once you’ve configured your template, click the save icon located in the top left, just below the "Add Message Template" heading.

Multi-Product
  1. Enter Template Name:
    In the Add Message Template screen:

    • Enter the name of your template, ensuring it is between 3-512 characters,
    • In lowercase,
    • Containing only underscores (_) as spaces.

    Once the name is entered, click the Next button below the name field.

  2. Choose Language:
    Select the language for your message template and then click Next.

  3. Configure Components:

  4. Save Template:
    Once you’ve configured your template, click the save icon located in the top left, just below the "Add Message Template" heading.

Order Details
  1. Enter Template Name:
    In the Add Message Template screen:

    • Enter the name of your template, ensuring it is between 3-512 characters,
    • In lowercase,
    • Containing only underscores (_) as spaces.

    Once the name is entered, click the Next button below the name field.

  2. Choose Category:
    Select the appropriate category for your message template:

    • Marketing
    • Utility
