Create Message Template
Learn how to create message template in your WhatsApp business account. This guide covers essential steps to ensure a smooth setup.
To create customized message templates for your WhatsApp Business account, follow these simple steps to ensure your messages effectively engage your audience.
- Open Message Templates Screen:
To begin creating a message template, access the Message Templates screen by following these steps:- Click on the Icon Navigation Card featuring the verified icon on your dashboard.
- Alternatively, navigate through the drawer menu by selecting WhatsApp Business Account and then Message Templates.
- Click on Add Button:
Once you’re on the Message Templates screen, click on the Add button located at the bottom right corner. - Choose Template Type:
Select the type of message template you wish to create from the following options:
Simple
Enter Template Name:
In the Add Message Template screen:
- Enter the name of your template, ensuring it is between 3-512 characters,
- In lowercase,
- Containing only underscores (_) as spaces.
Once the name is entered, click the Next button below the name field.
Choose Category:
Select the appropriate category for your message template:- Marketing
- Utility
(Authentication is not supported yet.)
After choosing the category, click Next.
- Choose Language:
Select the language for your message template and then click Next.
- Configure Components:
Customize the components for your simple message template. You can learn more about configuring components here.
- Save Template:
Once you’ve configured your template, click the save icon located in the top left, just below the "Add Message Template" heading.
Carousel
Choose Carousel Type:
If you selected Carousel as the template type, choose one of the following:- Media
- Product
Enter Template Name:
In the Add Message Template screen:- Enter the name of your template, ensuring it is between 3-512 characters,
- In lowercase,
- Containing only underscores (_) as spaces.
Once the name is entered, click the Next button below the name field.
Choose Category:
Select the appropriate category for your message template:- Marketing
- Utility
After choosing the category, click Next.
- Choose Language:
Select the language for your message template and then click Next.
- Configure Components:

- Save Template:
Once you’ve configured your template, click the save icon located in the top left, just below the "Add Message Template" heading.
Limited-Time Offer
Enter Template Name:
In the Add Message Template screen:- Enter the name of your template, ensuring it is between 3-512 characters,
- In lowercase,
- Containing only underscores (_) as spaces.
Once the name is entered, click the Next button below the name field.
- Choose Language:
Select the language for your message template and then click Next.
- Configure Components:
Customize the components for your limited-time offer message template. You can learn more about configuring components here.
- Save Template:
Once you’ve configured your template, click the save icon located in the top left, just below the "Add Message Template" heading.
Catalog
Enter Template Name:
In the Add Message Template screen:- Enter the name of your template, ensuring it is between 3-512 characters,
- In lowercase,
- Containing only underscores (_) as spaces.
Once the name is entered, click the Next button below the name field.
- Choose Language:
Select the language for your message template and then click Next.
- Configure Components:

- Save Template:
Once you’ve configured your template, click the save icon located in the top left, just below the "Add Message Template" heading.
Single-Product
Enter Template Name:
In the Add Message Template screen:- Enter the name of your template, ensuring it is between 3-512 characters,
- In lowercase,
- Containing only underscores (_) as spaces.
Once the name is entered, click the Next button below the name field.
- Choose Language:
Select the language for your message template and then click Next.
- Configure Components:

- Save Template:
Once you’ve configured your template, click the save icon located in the top left, just below the "Add Message Template" heading.
Multi-Product
Enter Template Name:
In the Add Message Template screen:- Enter the name of your template, ensuring it is between 3-512 characters,
- In lowercase,
- Containing only underscores (_) as spaces.
Once the name is entered, click the Next button below the name field.
- Choose Language:
Select the language for your message template and then click Next.
- Configure Components:

- Save Template:
Once you’ve configured your template, click the save icon located in the top left, just below the "Add Message Template" heading.
Order Details
Enter Template Name:
In the Add Message Template screen:- Enter the name of your template, ensuring it is between 3-512 characters,
- In lowercase,
- Containing only underscores (_) as spaces.
Once the name is entered, click the Next button below the name field.
Choose Category:
Select the appropriate category for your message template:- Marketing
- Utility
After choosing the category, click Next.
- Choose Language:
Select the language for your message template and then click Next.
